Ask the workspace a question and get a cited answer

Ask answers from stored claims, insights, signals and your approvals and rejections, with citations. If the evidence is not there, it says so, and an answer built on approved insights can become an action draft.

What changed this week?

Three things were detected. The one that matters most: Meridian raised its Pro price from $49 to $59 per seat [SG-002, C-030]. Complaints about manual portal migration also increased [SG-004]. Tallyhouse added a Slack integration [SG-005].

Turn that into a battlecard against Meridian.

Battlecard drafted from approved insight I-007, with the price change cited. It stays a draft until you review it.

What do we know about Meridian onboarding?

Meridian advertises onboarding in a day [C-014, S1]. Two agency-side sources report multi-week migrations [C-015, S2, S3], and a July changelog entry notes a new CSV import that may have shortened this since [S4]. The evidence is contested.

What is Meridian's customer churn rate?

The stored evidence does not cover this. No claim in the workspace addresses churn.

Ask answers from stored evidence. When there is none, it says so. A follow-up can become an action.

The problem

The same question gets asked again

Someone asks what you found on a competitor last quarter, and the answer sits in a chat nobody can find.

How it works

  1. Ask in plain language. Questions run against the workspace’s claims, insights, signals and sources, including your approvals and rejections.
  2. Ask about change. “What changed this week?” or “What changed since September?” search the stored signals and claims for that window, and say when nothing was recorded.
  3. Ask what you don’t know. “What don’t we know yet?” is answered from stored state: contested claims, single-source claims, subjects with no claims and unreviewed insights.
  4. Follow up. Follow-ups such as “which one is the biggest opportunity?” keep the evidence from the previous answer in scope.
  5. Turn an answer into an action. If the answer rests on approved insights, create a positioning, campaign or battlecard draft from the conversation. Unapproved insights block it.

Evidence and provenance

  • Citations are the IDs of stored objects, including signals.
  • Rejected and dismissed items are described as rejected or dismissed and are never used as support.
  • General model knowledge is labelled as such and is never shown as workspace evidence.
  • When the stored evidence does not cover a question, the answer says so.

FAQ

Ask: common questions

Does Ask browse the web?

No. Ask answers from stored workspace evidence. New retrieval happens through a research run or a monitor check.

What if the answer is partial?

The answer states what the stored evidence covers and where it stops.

Can Ask create things for me?

It can draft an action from an answer that rests on approved insights. The draft goes through the normal review, and nothing is sent or published.
